I'm a person who likes to chat often or a lot in many game sessions in Vortex Wars but I find that the chat system maybe could use the following update since it is a bit bothersome to have to deal with this in game, and I might go so far to say some others may feel similar. At present, there are two states for the chat. The first shows the last text message sent by anyone in a given game for about 10ish seconds before it disappears. The 2nd shows all texts sent by all players so far in the game for the last while. But there is a bug or perhaps an oversight(?) which is troublesome. The 2nd state does not show the latest texts sent by anyone unless the user remembers to manually click the down arrow icon to scroll it down to see new texts, which I'm sure many of us forget to do while on that mode, especially when sidetracked by gameplay. The 1st state does this automatically but the new text does not remain long. Many times I have missed new texts sent in chat because I didn't keep up with scrolling down every few seconds in the 2nd state (which is easy to do) since it must be manually advanced, or because I missed what disappeared in the 1st state, which puts me out of time or I may also miss if someone is talking to me. The first state is fine, but if chat goes fast, or I miss something, then I have to change states constantly to reread what I missed or need to read again, which then keeps me from seeing new texts if I keep it on that mode unless I manually advance it.

My proposal is this: Can the chat system section be modified to either allow always seeing all cumulative texts as a whole which are sent in a given game with autoscrolling for new texts sent, all within a sizable (not implemented yet) and scrollable window section either at the corner of the playing board (like it is now), or in a special section all to itself on screen? Or if this is not feasible, then at least so that the 2nd state described above automatically scrolls down to show new texts sent when the user is scrolled to the bottom of the current text message list?
Thank you for consideration of this.
