If you don't trust someone with your IP address, don't go to a website they run.

We should totaly remove any weapons from police. They might hurt someone!
Scalpels should be prohibited while surgery! Someone might cut the wrong spot.
Bad marks should be disallowed at schools! Teachers might be biased!

Thats called loan trust.

You have to go to an academy to be an officer.
It takes Years of schooling before you're even allowed to get close to a surgery.
Teachers are biased, it's human nature.

You have to be respected user to get a chance of becoming moderator.
Even then you also need to pass initial conversation with Fiendess.
Moderators are biased as well. It's human nature indeed.

"Respected User" and "Passing the initial conversation with Fiendess" are hardly ways to root out if someone will use their newly found power for nefarious purposes.

If they misuse it, they lose it. Case closed.

Anything they can do wrong with mod powers can easily be undone. Therefore, if Lopdo sees someone as trustworthy, then it really isn't a problem.

I was reading through this thread and could not help but see this comment. Even though I see another poster already somewhat addressed it... I must just say that this is a perfect case of a fallacy called a "false analogy".
Contrary to every single example you gave, the moderators hired in this game are not required to have any form of education. In fact I do believe that many of the moderators are not 18 years of age. (please correct me if I am wrong on this)

Anyway, seeing as every site on the internet has access to your ip address... I really don't see it as a concern. If you are really that concerned about it... just use a proxy.

I'm 18 years old. :)

Is there a reason moderators must be 18+? Its how good they are that matters.
