Random/Auto unit ditribution on demand (in "manual" games)

Postby Joriom » Fri Nov 11, 2011 4:15 am

Problem:
a) When playing with both upgrades on manual distribution game type there are sometimes situations, especially near choke points, where you want to max out 1-3 specific fields and you don't care where rest of your troops go. Sometimes you must spend some seconds looking all over your territory to find free spots to fill.
b) When you're maxed out and you use strategy of "slow steps" to have all your regions at 8s you must resupply every field manually even though you will get some leftovers anyway.

Possible solutions:
a) After pressing "End Turn" button it changes to "Random"/"Resupply"/etc instead of disappearing. After using it it places your troops of this turn as if it were "random" game type. You can place few units manually, and then press this button to place rest randomly. To avoid "miss-click" this button should be inactive (gray) for 1-2 seconds after pressing "End Turn" (or should appear with the delay). Some players already simulate this behaviour by simply waiting until the time is gone, but it slows down the gameplay and can be irritating.
b) When you click "End Turn" and game detects that you will have leftover troops this turn it automatically maxes out your fields without any delay.

Well, I don't know if you'll be able to hear my comments.. and I'm not going to type in all caps for obvious reasons, but.. you get the idea lol.

I am definitely in favor of this. It would make manual matches much more easy to place units rather than having to place all the units yourself. Some people may say that you could just wait to the end of the troop building time for the random to come in, but I think that doesn't really respect the other people in the game if they are constantly waiting for your time to run out.

Well, those are my two cents, I too would like to hear what others are going to say.

If I understand correctly, after the turn ends, you want another "end distribution" button, which will automatically randomly distribute the remaining reinforcements?

Great idea! It will considerably shorten the waiting time before your turn!
