Capture the Flag

Hey guys, what do you think about a Capture the Flag mode?
I start with the map:
The map is symmetrical and has a small region in the middle, where the Flag is.
Every Player has a Startregion, that has the same distance to the Flag for every Player.

Now what is different to normalmaps:
The Players have a Fixed starting region, that can't be conquered. After a turn the Units on this field are set to 8, no matter how many Unit the player would get. So the Player don't have to waste a view turns to restore his Units.
To get the Flag you have to make a connection from your Base to the Flagregion. The Flag moves with either one field or one region per turn to your Base.
When it reaches your Base you won the game. The Flag will go back to it's startingfield, when it hasn't moved for tree round in a row. Remember, that you must have a connection from your Base to the Flag-strarting-field to move it, no matter where the Flag is at the moment.

This has never been suggested before

Although, in all fairness, your suggestion does add new ideas not given there, so it really isn't a ripoff.

I haven't read that post before. But he just says, that he want this mod. I explain how it could work. So Lopdo don't has to think by himself.

To me, this sounds like FTA would play to much of a role. But if you don't mind FTA, it all sounds good.

FTA could be a problem here too. But I can say, that it is posible to win even a small map if you are the last one. You just have to survive for two or three turns. Maybe the players could have a different distance to the Flag? But then a later player has the advantage that he can win faster if he reaches the Flag. That mode could have a limit of 4-6 players to lower the FTA.
That is why I personally create maps with only four players or less.

Really? Based on my experiences FTA dictates the results of games more in small maps than in large maps.

yup, what norman said. its easier for me to win as brown than as green in a 4 player.
