Hey, I'm new to the site. (I play from kong btw), so I'm a bit nervous. In some forums I've seen there's a load of "7 year olds" wrecking mayhem like "hy hou do u do dis", trolling etc.

Um, 6 pages isn't much compared to some threads I've seen from Kongregate with 500+ pages (rare, but maybe 1 or 2 I've seen).

I think the idea is really good. Sadly, FTA is impossible to remove from turn-based games, as stated by Badfurday. A way to remove this would be to make this an RTS, so maybe with movement cooldowns etc. but considering Lopdo has stated that he won't be changing the core mechanics, this probably won't happen. It'd be an interesting concept IMO though.

An RTS version of VW just wouldn't make sense...
And this is a much younger forum than Kongregate's...
And even if it impossible to get rid of first turn advantage, it is possible to decrease it...

I got an idea. Few days since I read all the pages, but I'm reasonably sure this was not said.

How about... After placing regions, you go to the opposite of your current turn order.

So...1st player goes to 8.
2nd to 7.
3rd to 6.
4th to 5.

And vice versa.

So if your 1st, you get to get good placement, but bad turn order.

Lopdo actually has a separate topic with this idea. The only major problem is that one person gets to play immediately after placing their starting spot.

yep, but maybe you could switch between those to placings after each round

That wouldn't work, because then two people would get to have two turns in a row every time they had a turn.

lol, on 1v1 it would probably be crap, very crap
