Circle Dock for Windows

I love this little windows app. My desktop remains iconless.

There is a 32 and 64 bit version, and is being continued by new developers.
latest version I believe is 1.5.6

In conjunction with this dock app as well, you can streamline your desktop.

Naah, it's all cool. I just haven't tested out the new Win8 yet, so I have nowhere to test this Circular Dock. In theory it looks good, but it probably takes some getting used to.
Also, I'm used to the mac Dock, so my Desktop is Clean either way. Only screenshots appear on the desktop

I always thought that empty desktop is waste of precious space... I don't understand this weird fetish some people have -.-

It's called a desktop. Think of it as a physical one for a second... and maybe then you can relate. Would you rather have a desktop full of clutter and papers, or a nice clean one to sit down to everyday. For me, I want a nice clean one. I use the desktop more like a temp folder... whereby I add and dump files while working on projects.. but when it's all over, files need to go to their "home", either filed away or trashed. In the end, it should return to a clean desk.

I loaded Win8 in a Virtual Machine for you to look at. I don't like it myself... but I can see Mac people or general home pc users liking it a lot more. I'm staying with Win7.

Boot up into this screen:

The New desktop, notice the lack of start-menu.

Well yeah... The start and Apps list is something I can relate to. I have it booted up too, but thanks for the screens! Gonna check it out in a while.

Also, a minimalistic desktop and auto organizing folders is a way of life, a lazy one. But allows wasting as little time on the computer as possible

I don't think that it is very good idea to compare computer desktop and physical desktop. There is one big difference, you can't comfortably put something on top of mess you have on your physical desktop, so you have to keep it clean. You don't have this problem with pc desktop. As for temp files, I do same thing as you do and my permanent icons don't stand in the way. Then again, having 2 monitors can help with that significantly :) I could use 3 tho :/
