Nobody is going to be popular with everyone. At least, pretty much nobody. Fang was probably our one exception, Guin might be another, but then he's just not active enough at the moment.

Well, Fang is not only liked, but also respected by the broad majority of the respectable community. And Guin is the best example I can think of for being well-liked. I didn't say they were complete exceptions, but they are the closest active members I could think of.
