upon surrendering

I always thought it's such a waste when someone surrenders thinking they lost but the game still holds potential.
Some people quit too soon and I see this a lot when I observe games.

So here's my thought, what if a spectator of any sort could fill in for the surrending player and pick up the game where it's left off. That way the game goes on and
it might make the games a bit more interesting and challenging for the opponents.

I just hate to see a game go to waste when there's potential in it.
