Joshua wrote:"Artefacts" is the correct way of spelling it, but modern society/culture uses "Artifacts", because it makes more sense.

Why does it make more sense?

I think artifacts and artefacts are different from UK to US like other words.
mum = mom
colour = color
flavour = flavor

Why does USA hate the letter U? It should be called OSA

Why does it make more sense?

Well, it didn't used to, but people starting changing the pronunciation of it. And then the spelling.

As Clan Ghost Bear said, it's primarily because the US adapted the language to make it more simple, which is why my windows computer always thinks I spell words wrong.

I know, but I can never be bothered. I get used to it. I just end up ignoring spell-checks anyway, seeing as I (Usually, CGB understands) don't misspell things.

Actually, it had nothing to do with making it more simple. Most of that was Noah Webster purposely changing the language to try and differentiate it from UK English because he thought he was some sort of patriot getting the US cultural independence. Nevertheless, both spelling are perfectly correct, although 'artifact' is preferred by the Oxford English Dictionary.

Hehe, Lopdo commenting on the spelling rather than the idea itself :)

I'm not quite sure how it works, does it work like this; in a 4 player game each had 2, 8 artefacts altogether, does the winner choose 2 then next player chooses 2, etc
The simple, the best.
