Practice Games.

Some sort of game mode just called practice, where nothing changes. Not the number of shards you have, your rating, your rank.. NOTHING changes after the game.

Seems pointless.
Only one of those things, your rating, can go down, so there's no reason to have a separate practice mode if we incorporate rating-free games and I'd rather always be earning XP and shards.
This does give me an idea for the rating toggle switch though. On your profile, you can enter this "practice mode" and you suffer no change it rating, but get no XP or shards as well! Basically then, I like your idea but for different reasons. (I think)
