The point system penalizes the loser more than it awards a winner .
Example 8 player xl map first player out loses 29-34 points, winning player gains 19-24 points
The system should be balanced especially since the game is based on chance.
1=+20 2=+15 3=+10 4=0 5=-5 6=-10 7=-15 8=-20

That is a good idea. I've lost way too much recently (please don't complain about my complaining) because people keep on being idiots. And then when I win, I get like nothing for it.

The numbers are influenced by the ratings of the players in the game, your numbers may be skewed because of that.
If you want to lose less rating and gain more, play against higher ranked players. Considering that there don't seem to be too many of those, I think biasing the system toward higher ratings would be a good idea though.
The fixed number system you seem to be suggesting may also be a good alternative. Thing is, it would encourage beating up worse players, not bettering your skill against better ones

Then the system is flawed if it relies on getting high ranking players to join or create a game and will not encourage more frequent playing but instead lobby trolling .
As were a fair point system would.

This game isnt based on chance.
check the Leaderbord. They win 1/3 or 1/2 of all games. When you should stick to your ''chance'' they would have 1/8 win on 8 player games and 1/5 win on 5 player games.
its about making sure you have higher armies then your enemy each time. it is impossible to get 100% because you cant win every single roll that is important in a game.
the current reward/rating system is good. if you get higher it should be harder to gain rating and easier to lose it. After a while you get a rating that sticks between some points. mine is stuck between 1800-2000. other people have 1500-1700 and yes, others have 2500-3000.
