I suggest these because they are going to take a part in the back story I'm writing. :P  :?:

Terrans - The men of earth are bloodthirsty, and will fight to the last one.

Can attack with ones, +5% attack

Scientists - The scientists created weapons so powerful that they wrought destruction on themselves

+10% attack, +5% defense, lose 1 reinforcement for each attack they make

Attacking with a one would leave that territory blank, right? If so, then we may have the natives counterpart we've been looking for.

THAT! Scorched earth strategy. I kind of like it :D And I think It would not be so OP. What are chances of 1v1? You win in 15 out of 36 possibilities. Thats just 41,6%. And what about 1v2 or 1v3? Extremaly low. And in return you would still have same amount of regions you had before attacking OR even less, as you could "unconnect" your region from the rest.

It seems to have only disadvantages for players YET I can see how it could be useful against every race BUT natives. When someone cuts you, you in most cases don't have units to re-connect or enemy blocked your only ways to do so. With this races, you could try to somehow "rearange" your regions with enemy ones.
You could even "unlock" forces stuck inside of your teritory by "neutralizing" one of your regions that way. Especialy if you would loose that "1" even if you did not win the fight.

Terrans should only be able to do it once per turn, lest they use spores to spread themselves across the map like a fungus, which would seriously alter gameplay, or worse, become the magnificent flying jackass at the beginning of a conquer match.

Why? They would surely end up dying relatively quickly, if not immediately. Also, they wouldn't be able to move into empty spaces; that would just be cheap. Only attacking.

yeah, suppose that works, but the burrowing effect it could create would be annoying and still alter some games a bit more than I'd like, nice idea in theory, though.

"Moving" ones to empty regions could be allowed but it would REDUCE turns time instead of current time increase after each attack.

Thus, this would bring to life new strategies. One of them:
- Place 8 INSIDE of your teritory, leaving borders ones (its often made anyway, if you expect attack from more than one side). Next turn you can "unlock" it by moving one of ones - in the direction you need it.

Yet, this could be abused on random distribution maps. Players with that race would gain decent advantage - ones at borders with higher numbers inside would not be such a problem.
