Now I know we can set the rooms to be a minimum of 5 or 10, but can we have a set maximum level option as well? That way we don't have all the varying levels with someone being level 2 just learning how to play and have a level 27 with Dragons and 2 upgrades wipe the floor with em. I would love to see that because I fall victim to it a lot it seems :|

I agree with you. Low lvl players need this so thay could faster learn how to play. ;)

It wasn't just demeaned towards that I would just like it to be fair instead of having a level 4 create a game and have level 18,20,25 etc. Coming in with all the upgrades and powerful races and that little level 4 not standing a chance. More or less just evening out the playing field a little. You know?

Actually, when I first started playing, I learned everything I know today about the game from playing against ZANE when he was around, and he was one of if not the best player on at the time. However, I still believe it is a good way to make games more fair.

The race does not really disadvantage you that much. About the upgrades, play on a 40 regions map with 8 players and I guarantee you that they won't get their full reinforcements (unless they're winning, and it that case, again, it doesn't really matter.)

i really hope you are playing a "normal" race and not a race you have bought??

Not all people play with a full 8 crowd... No one new just busts out and plays against the top dogs of the game... I would like some balance so newbies can play with newbies so they both can learn and teach each other on the way. It would only make sense.

Actually that's not really true xCCx; I started the game like that. I had been playing the game for about five days and I went into this random person's game. At the time I didn't even know who techgump was; I just joined the game to play. As it turned out, I eventually won that game. Granted, I agree that not many people like playing against higher level people. It does make it harder, but only to an extent. I have seen many games won by people with no upgrades or bonus races when they play people who do. Personally I didn't mind playing against people who are higher than me when I was a low level. It taught me many things and always made for interesting games.

As for newbies teaching newbies: I don't think that's a great idea. You don't get better by playing people who are worse or the same level you are. You learn by playing people who are ranked higher, and who can teach strategies that new people haven't learned yet.

I am not in favor of max level restrictions for games. It opens too many possibilities of people setting the levels at, or lower than their level and only playing people weaker than them. It also can make it hard for the highest level people to find games. I do not think I am a high enough level to have that problem yet, but it could easily be possible, if not probable, that it would cause a problem in the future as people progress through the game.

A game of 40 regions with 8 players would only advantage a player that bought the upgrade if he already eradicated 6 out of 6 players, and in that case, his advantage would not matter since he has already won.

A %5 attack boost means the attack power generated is multiplied by 1.05x. Two players have 8 and 8, attacker has +5% attack, *IF* it so ever happens that both powers are at maximum, it will help the attacker win, but if the dice rolls 3-4 digits under, which is quite likely, the 5% will not help him. I know it's hard to imagine percentages, but 5% is nothing. I try to keep track of how much I do, and I can honestly say that my 5% def has helped me defend my unit less than five times in all the games I have played. The race is really more for prestige than anything else.
