I would quite like to see the option to turn the ratings system off when making a game so that a game doesn't affect your ratings.
Firstly I think it has taken some of the enjoyment out of the game, I used to just jump into games happy go lucky and be fine whatever the outcome, happy to build up my xp all the time.
Now I am going into games worrying that I might be the unlucky one that gets placed right next to and even unluckier to get put out first or second turn, which happens often in games and is down to pure luck, yet achieves such harsh rating deductions.
A few examples if I may.
I just finished a game before writing this post where I was blue (2nd) and teal (7th) decided to place right next to me and I was unlucky enough to be out 1 turn later by an unlucky roll for me and a lucky roll for my opponent. I took -63 rating for this. Yet only the other day I was present in a game, I had a good start, got beaten back almost to the point of death, made a rather astounding recovery (even if I do say so myself) and won the match beating out 4 other players who all should have been easily capable of wiping me out whilst I was down. What was my reward for this? +17 rating.
So far in my experience the ratings system is highly unbalanced in favour of the negative. and would love if it was done away with altogether yet would be perfectly happy to be able to create a game where I can just disregard it, and be happy with playing a game for the fun of it. without having to worry about losing massive amounts of the new magic number within seconds of starting a game.
