I am leaving everything to enlist into the United States Army (MOS 153A: Rotary Wing Aviator.)

I had my fun here. I will remember the long nights playing VW and posting on the forums. I'll remember the tournaments and how extra this community is and was. Many of you I consider to be friends, and I look forward to talking with you all in the future.

I'll continue to maintain the VW Discord Server, which will remain the best way to contact me. I will answer any tags there so long as I am available to do so.

I am a dark individual and I feel as though the military is a good way for me to find myself. (I passed a psych test, so either I fooled them or they need some fuckers like me flying helicopters.)

Some random facts that may answer some questions that could be posed:

I made a 97 on my most recent ASVAB.

I am going through a Warrant Officer program with the Army.

I'll go from Basic to AIT to Warrant Officer Candidate School, to Flight School, to a helicopter.

I want to fly a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk if I get a say in it.

Congratulations and best of luck on your decision to join the military. We need good people to volunteer and serve. It is definitely not for everyone and I would not push or encourage anyone to do so unless it was entirely their own choice. Since that is your situation: Thank you for stepping up to keep us safe.

Do your best to stay safe and always do what is right.

Well, good luck to you Fang. I'd urge you to reconsider, but I understand if you think this is the best path for you. Remember, you'll be taking an oath to "support, protect, and defend" the Constitution of the United States; not to do the bidding of powerful men in foreign lands with your life for thier benefit. Stay safe, and aware of your responsibilities.

I'm at AIT now.

Due to the misfortune of me having shitty eyesight, I wasn't eligible for flight (for now. Gonna get PRK and if my heart still wants flight when I re-enlist I'll try again.)

However, I still enlisted, passed basic, and am now halfway through AIT. Thought I'd check in and see how many lurkers are still here.
