To be completely honest, I always go back to AoE1... it's a lot simpler and much easier to grasp which units counter which and which races excel at what, and the strategy in it are fun ^_^

It's not too hard,
In it's most basic sense go with this.

Calvary eats Artillery.
Pikemen eat Calvary.
Rifles eat Pikemen.
Artillery eat Rifles.

found simcity, C&C (generals ) madden, and a few other games, but I think AoE is long gone. It's all good though, i'll just get another from walmart (they still have it, right? RIGHT?!?)
