PLEASE hit cheaters, and hit them hard...

Lopdo,

Yet another cheater, and this is really fedding me up. I am reporting a case of double accounter, and I really hope some action is taken against him. I am not just reporting him in 'Report User' thread, because my message is more than that. We can't just keep making an infinite list of them, and let them continue to spoil the whole game. This is a real plague, and with these behaviors you really think twice before returning to an other game. We need to really PUNISH them hard, otherwise reporting them only inspires other to try same cheats (if they're not said to be punished, and it's such an advantage to cheat, let's try it too). Lopdo you have to take action. Right now for this case. Add have more game moderators, it's been said elsewhere but it's a real need....

Here are the screen shots, speak by themeselves:

I have a couple of other pictures too (I'm limited to 3 here), in case you are not convinced.

Of course you can always try to pretend they 'might be allies' to avoid taking actions. But:
- blue only has one won game in 84 matches
- he only serves as a first front to red, with red attacking his back on each turn. Never complained for that...

When there is absolutely no difference in gameplay between so-said 'secret allies' and what you would strictly expect from double account player, what is the sense of protecting these cheaters ? Again, just to inspire others to try the same ?

Not to mention he spent the whole game insulting me (with both accounts, taking turns) until I muted him for a while. Then he remained VERY silent (with both accounts suddenly) when I could explain that players can actually get punished when double-accounting.

I hope someone dares to punish him. VortexWars rules credibility is engaged to my opinion.

Or fotget about the rules.

And don't expect me to play again.

There's a guy named Sir Maikelnight on VW?

I'm not sure what to think about that.

Thank you tech, this is already something.

I know Lopdo is extremely fair and only acts when he gets abolute proofs. Now I don't think this is an appropriate response to what is going on. Don't get me wrong : I don't want to ban anyone playing with a different spirit than I would. But we have to wonder:

- what actually is a proof
- what rules do we want

About proving someone is cheating: in Report Users thread, I once mentionned LALALALALALALAL for cheating, with screen copies. That guy has 127 victories over 148 matches played... Come on... Now he hasn't played for weeks, still he's pretty high and visible in the Leaderboard. Anyone with a tiny sense of observation will notice that he has abnormal stats, is rewarded by being in leaderboards, and is not punished. So go on guys, try your own tricks, it pays off... Just go cheating, there's no risk about that.

There is an infinite tank of noobs that are all going to try these things before learning that playing fair is actually more fun. As long as they try within their 20 first games, they usually do not much harm. But we are missing a clear message to them.

"People get banned for that. Every day. Don't even try" (Ban can just be a 1 week ban or so, not for ever)

For this we need more administrators; letting them act and 'keeping an eye on them' is not efficient I'm affraid.

We need rules for real fair games. This is my second point: why not introduce a system / rule where any kind of alliance is only allowed in explicitely so-stating games. Have a "clan / team" mode for games. All others are free for all, and people not complying to that are cheating.

That would make banning easier. Now one always retain from banning as one can always consider players might actually be allied, might have forgotten to announce it, might maybe-who-knows-not-really-actually-be-playing-multiple accounts.... But who cares, provided there is, indeed, no way to tell if they do, it means the result is just the same: wasted games, lost fairplay.

Stating that multiple account is cheating is absolutely obvious and logical. Stating that someone behaving in every aspects exactely like someone with multiple accounts would do is actually legal, as we cannot prove whether it is multiple account, is plain hypocrite and weak. BTW, the IP criterium stated in rules is just, again, an additional motivation to try it, as there are tons of ways to do it with different IP's, which is then... legal according to rules :) (well rules say it is not legal but say you can be banned if proven by same IP address - this does not add up, really).

I see no other solution than banning allies except for a special, explicit game mode. This is the simplest and clearest rule modification that can satisfy all players, those playing free for all and all the (fair) others. I don't care about unfair ones that will complain because they can no longer have advantage of secret alliances...

And then, state clearly in game (not just in forum) when players are caught and punished. Currently there is absolutely no in-game pressure to play fair.

It is sad to read myself begging for more 'police action', it is so far from my usual spirit. But I really would like that we could apply some resistance to that openly and freely cheating and unfair playing... For the moment we just look at it and complain, but take care not to take any real action. This is how I feal it at least...
