Count your borders. Never go too far into somebodies territory, you'll screw yourself. This is even more important when troop distribution is set to borders.

I can't help but notice that the "If someone is insulting you, mute him" tip is a bit sexist as I'm sure some women/girls play this game as well. It's not very noticeable but it's there nonetheless, just pointing that out. Maybe you can change the "him" to "them".
