Development contests

I believe that contests would actually help develop Vortex Wars. All that's needed is motivation.

For instance, "Create a new Vortex Wars Interface" or "Realize a feature in code form".
The rewards for the Winner, could include stuff like Shards/Warcoins/Activated Features. If it's just for a few winners, it wouldn't be too unfair I guess. I'm not sure if the initiative would rise, but I guess at least someone here in the forums know about coding or design.

I can't contribute to such contests myself, but would appreciate to see some inspiration for independent users to help out more directly than just suggest features. Hope this seems useful.

I'm not sure how many people on the forums know actionscript, or if Lopdo would be willing to give away the server end of the code.

But it does sound intriguing to me, I have to admit.

If there would be such kind of contest I would gladly participate by creating some AS2/3 packages or doing some stuff in PS. Especially if I could win some warcoins to buy deluxe editor x_x

Something like this would be feasible only for very specific features that can be implemented as a plugin. I do not plan to share my code, certainly not the serverside. It would be easier for visual designs, but I feel it would be waste of time for most of people that would want to take a part. I notice that people tend to ignore big picture and focus only on small part of the problem, resulting in interesting designs that are practically unusable

This is where you, Lopdo, would come in with the suggestion WHAT to "focus on", I guess there is no sharing needed for that.
You create the contest
take the suggested design/code,
check it for mistakes,
see how it applies to the game,
modify it or deny it.

If not then this thread is a bust :)
