Thieft should be punished with cutting hand off.
Mother that could not find a job and everyone denies to help her stole some food to feed her child.
Cause of obeying rules to the letter we will cut her a hand.

Perfect. THATS what in regime.

You're missing the point.
Theft should not be punished with cutting hand off, because cutting hand off would not be in the law. The law would be to pay a fine or to have a warning, depending on the severity of the theft; so anyone that looks at the law can tell exactly what that person did wrong and tell exactly what the sentence will be. Otherwise, the sentence is determined by the judge (mods). That is exactly that the rulebook does, but I find it way too harsh in many areas.

Any member who commits any 8th Offense ( breaking any rule 8times) can be issued a permanent ban. That decision is left to the moderator that has caught the person on they're 8th ( or higher ) Offense.
That's eight times banning someone, when lopdo said he doesn't like to ban anyone, whether perma-ban or for a day. Rules are unsuitable and need to be modified.

You CAN NOT think of every single situation that might happen (few years as a codder gave me a decent lesson in this matter), thus you can not write EXACT rule enforcing system. Thats why I prefer too strict RuleBook that is not treated sooo serious but can be base for ANY punishment. I would even prefer RuleBook that cointains one single sentence:
"Administrator and moderators are allowed to give you warning, banish your account or delete your account without any further notice for any action that they see as a crime."
And you know what? It works. Any additional points are required only to proove dumb people that what they did is realy a crime. And for now we don't need to care for those I suppose. Also too many "rules" bring next problem to the surface. People like you. Untill there were NO RuleBook everything was fine, even if the only rule was Totalitarian Lopdos Authority. Since now we got RuleBook, people start to see some nonexistant problems with "words interpretation".

There is two sides to this, both have there good reason. However, you are all trying so hard to prove your point you are not listening to each other. Mainly only one side is doing this. Now seeing how this is mostly new lets give some time and see how it works before we bash the rules. Then you can go on a help make it better instead of only pointing faults.

Haha, I logged in just to post a question.

How do you plan on IP-banning? As shown there is at least 2 ways to get this this website, via kong and the original. Would Kong really release IP's to you mod? Highly unlikely. Then there's the issue that most players use some form of larger hub system/connecting network from its service that periodically refreshes itself thus creating yet again another unique IP. Also, since Vortex Wars doesn't use HTTPS when logging in, you can use a proxy like there's no tomorrow. Unless you make every user switch their settings to a IPv4, there's no way to IP ban someone. Just another loophole to fix.

Most cheater cheat for xp or shards, so banning accounts isn't a problem. As for breaking other rules, IDK.

I am running the server so I can see user's IP, it would be kinda hard if I didn't :) and what does IP version have to do with anything?

Lopdo, you can see people's IP if they allow you to see it or if it it not a dynamic IP, like the previous user stated... Proxy changes your IP every time you connect and connecting from a large server changes my IP every few minutes... You can ban the account but banning the IP won't change a thing, since someone can just press F5 and keep spamming if they're using proxy or dynamic IP... right?

Proxies don't change IP SO fast. Even if they did, Lopdo can just block whole IP range. It would block any user logging from that proxy. Fair users mostly don't do such things.

There are always way how to go around any protective measure. I know it can be quite pointless but it is still better than nothing (most of the times)
