It does, there's a dominance pattern, to a person I respect (Don't have a boss) I always do that, but if I still want to dominate, I would put my other hand on top of his and then control the shake

This is not odd.

It's similar with women as well:
When you dance, your hand/arm is suppose to support hers... not the other way around.
When walking, you hold her hand such that yours is the leading hand. Likewise with positioning yourself so you are on the side facing the street.

While you may not be aware yet that some people will judge you by these small nuances, it exists, and will happen.
