Hello, I am Pi.

Postby 3.14 » Mon Dec 30, 2013 10:33 pm

I am familiar with PhppBB forums, but was not sure where to start with 3,671 other topics to choose from.

I am not new to this game, but I created my account today. I noticed that you had forums and was pleased to see that they are driven by PhpBB.
I have played this game for approximately a month as a guest until I decided I would create an account. Is there anything that I should know of or about as a new non-guest player? Moderators, if this is considered off-topic or against the rules feel free to move the thread to the correct sub-forum.

Pi is easy to observe, but hard to compute accurately by hand.

While I am not a moderator, I do not believe that this is necessarily off topic (though it may be moved to the Off-Topic GD subforum). As a new non-guest player, you have some options that you may or may not want to consider. You can join a clan, located in the clans subforum here. While there is no direct advantage in-game to joining a clan, they do present the opportunity to become part of a group of close-knit friends and can better the playing experience and perhaps even give you a few pointers of better strategies when it comes to gameplay.

Other than that, welcome, and it's nice to see you created an account! :P

Welcome to Vortex Wars!

I'm glad you made an account, by chance have I played against you whilst you were a guest?

As for what you should know of or about as a new player, there isn't really alot besides adhering to the rules. There are a few fun things that we do on the forums that carry over to the game though, you may be interested in:

Tournaments
Clans
Factions

That is by far not all we do, but are among my favorite things. If you are interested in joining a clan, I am a proud member of Wolfpack and we will always take a new member.

My most important advice to you is this: Stay on the forums and in-game! It will improve your experience with Vortex Wars immensely.

Guest77, thanks for the warm welcome, currently I am not interested in joining any clans.

Fangfallen, I do not recall playing against you at any point, however I would be pleased to meet anybody new in combat.
Thanks for the advice, I do plan on following the rules as well as staying active both on forum and in-game.
Those links you provided are quite interesting, though I will currently refrain from joining any clans.

Pi and 3.14 are both perfectly acceptable, you may also just call me 3 for ease.

Welcome. Do not be worried about people's suspicions. I am sure several will accuse you of being an older player in desguise. Most newbies do not act the way you have this far, and that is the whole basis for the accuasations.

Although I hate when people use 3.14 for Pi, I understand. I do enjoy the number, and I hope I enjoy your company. I like your signature.

I prefer to use 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884 as Pi, because that is as far as I can remember. I remember it is chunks of two, and I need to start memorizing more.
