Skill based game

Postby helixfire » Mon Jun 13, 2011 11:50 am

Im not able to post in the feature request so I post here.

The point is that this game is so much based on luck. I know tactics are good but if your enemy has more luck than you it wont work anymore. At the end he keeps killing you with a lower number. He kills your 8 with a 5 and you fail to kill his 8. In the next case you attack his 3 with your 3 and you lose. Your fields remains with 1 unit and his field with 3. This isn't fair anymore. Please add a game mode which is based on skill.
For example: The higher number wins.

I need to implement manual army placement. There is just too much randomness right now. I will consider your suggestion, but I am not sure it will be fun to play.

Btw: feature forum should work now

hey helixfire, have you ever played risk? its basically the same set up(with dice). War is unpredictable, but most of the time the higher number will win. You need to take every little advantage you can get, and then statistically you should win. It actually takes a lot more skill than you think. You can't win every game, but if you consider statistics into your games, you'll end up winning a lot more. A good example of this is poker. A lot of people say it's luck, but it actually does have a lot of skill involved.

Sounds to me like Helixfire isn't very good at this game. :P
