Just played the game.
There was next situations:
1) Opponent attacked my 8 with his 4, get 8:1 roll and win.
2) Opponent attacked my 1 with his 7, get 1:1 roll and win.
3) Opponent attacked my 1 with his 4, get 1:2 roll and lose.

Is that a new random system or what?

I have no idea what those numbers are supposed to mean

that can happend but u see at u dont lost ur land when that happend

yes you can, if you defend with 8 and lose all 8 at the same time, there will be an 8
those numbers mean how many armies are destroyed
