Sovereign - Rules itself. May control any other type.
Vassal - Section of existing clan. May control own vassal, colony, protectorate, and occupied.
Colony - Started by members of parent clan to expand power. May control occupied.
Protectorate - Is protected in exchange for something. May control vassal, colony, or occupied.
Occupied - Taken control of through war. May control colony.

Conquest - Conquering another clan (making it occupied state)
- Can be declared by Sovereign, or by Vassal, Colony and Protectorate with permission
- Can be declared against any type
Crusade - War to force another clan to adopt something
- Can be declared by Sovereign, or by Vassal, Colony, and Protectorate with permission
- Can be declared against sovereign, protectorate, vassal, and colony
Revolution - War to become sovereign
- Can be declared by Vassal, Colony, or Occupied (Protectorate may leave agreement as any time)
- Can be declared against Sovereign, Protectorate, or Vassal
When a sovereign state is taken over, all vassals, colonies, protectorates, and occupied territories of it become independent.
When a non-sovereign state is defending itself in war, rules are as follows...
- An occupied state is not required to send troops, and the parent country may send as many as it wishes
- A protectorate can have up to twice as many troops from their parent defending as their own troops
- A colony may have up to the same amount of troops from their parent defending as their own troops
- A vassal must provide all troops for itself
- An allied country may provide one troop in each battle with at least three troops on each side
These rules apply assuming the parent/allied country does not put itself on the stakes. If a parent country does, they may provide as many troops as they wish, but they will also become occupied if they lose.
In order to make these work, members may only switch between mother clan and sections after 21 days in what they are in. This does not apply to the leader of the section, who counts as a member of both.
No kicking members of teams from clan games.
A clan MUST fight in a war within due time and not ignore organization of war or else risk disqualification/penalization including possible occupation under CDL rules. This does not apply if the attacking clan has outstanding wars to respond to.
